Down here in Austin, people love their dogs. I mean LOVE their pups, but there are many dogs to be adopted and taken into great homes. Recently, we gave a couple sets of bandanas to the Austin Humane Society to give the pups some “flare” to intice adoptions. Check out some of the photos of these cute rescue dogs sporting a SLT bandana!
Good luck! — @SweetLeafDanny
Anita More Storage Since I Won All This Tea
By Marketing Intern on Aug 2 Filed In Austin, Texas, Sweet Contests, Sweet-Spot 1 Comment
There’s only one thing I love more than free Sweet Leaf Tea, and that’s giving free Sweet Leaf Tea away. That’s why today was a good day. We got to inform Anita Greenberg from Austin, Texas that she won a year’s supply of Sweet Leaf Tea. Everyone at Sweet Leaf Headquarters really enjoyed the picture Anita submitted to the Sweet Leaf Sweet Spot contest of her daughter chugging a can of our raspberry tea. This afternoon a bunch of us at the headquarters gathered in an office and called her on her cell phone to give her the good news. I put on my official announcing voice, as well as a bandana and some ridiculous sunglasses, and asked her what was sweeter than a bottle of Sweet Leaf Tea. I was expecting her to answer, “I don’t know” or “nothing,” so when she responded, “my daughter,” I was unprepared and had to make up something fast. “That,” I said, “but also a year’s supply of tea!” Everyone cheered and Anita was very excited. We went on to ask her about the picture and it turns out it was taken at Zilker Park in Austin during Blues on the Green. The can of raspberry tea was her daughter’s first Sweet Leaf Tea and she said, “I gave her one sip and I didn’t see the rest of the can.”
Check out the video we shot of the phone call and her visit the next day.
Do you want to be a winner like Anita? You still can! Every week for another twelve weeks we will be giving a year’s supply of tea to someone in a region on our Sweet Leaf Sweet Spot Map, and at the very end, anyone from the entire country could win. It’s not too late to take a picture and submit it to www.sweetleafsweetspot.com. Do it!
Carolyn Wonderland Rocking Waterloo Park

Blues on the Green Report by, Justin Goldstein.
Last week the Sweet Leaf interns returned to Waterloo Park for Blues on the Green. While some of the interns will be there next week for Papa Mali’s performance, it was my (Justin) last event. Carolyn Wonderland definitely put on a great farewell show for me. She has a broad mix of talent infusing many genres of music into her blues sound. She kept the music going for hours as it was actually the longest show of the summer, but that didn’t stop the fans from staying until the very end.
We had cold tea and really enjoyed interacting with the music lovers who make it out to Waterloo every other week. I’m disappointed that I won’t be at the final Blues on the Green of 2009 but I’m sure it will be a great show, so stop by grab some tea and have an awesome time.
Cajun Blues with a Twist of Texan

B on the G blog July 16
by Justin Goldstein and Emily Hoyle
This week’s Blues on the Green started out like any other outdoor event in Texas; 105 degree heat and lots of humidity. Luckily we brought over 40 cases of Sweet Leaf Tea and soaked some bandannas in ice, so we were sittin’ pretty. As the event-goers started to arrive, we made it our personal mission to get some Sweet Leaf into the talented hands of Marcia Ball, the evening’s performer. As luck would have it, Marcia loves our product and happily accepted a deliciously refreshing Peach Tea. We have nothing to support our claims, but we personally believe that our homemade goodness in a 20 oz bottle was the reason behind Marcia’s amazing performance of some great Cajun infused blues with a Texas twist.
Marcia’s reputation as a skilled pianist is well deserved as she kept the crowd rockin’ for 2 solid hours. Her soulful voice combined with fantastic saxophone and guitar playing from the band made our job of selling Sweet Leaf that much easier. WE had so much fun interacting with the crowd and meeting Marcia. We cannot wait until Carolyn Wonderland hits the stage at the next Blues on the Green on July 29th.
Thank you to everyone who came out to purchase some tea and hang out with us. We hope to see y’all next time. As for the music, we’re happy to say that Marcia Ball once again proved that Austin is the Live Music Capital of the World.
Kicking it at KGSR’s Blues On the Green

Post by Justin Goldstein (Rockingly great intern)
The rains came but could not last. The interns were on hand Wednesday night as KGSR held their bi-weekly Blues on the Green at Waterloo Park. Witt, Logan, Nicole and I could not miss a performance by Jimmy Vaughan.
We were at the park at 4 to set up our booth between our friends at Austin Energy and Saltlick BBQ. Hopefully by the end of the summer I can trade them enough tea that they will give me a discount on the energy bill…
Cuatros fed us in the VIP, while Dos XX’s kept us happy. We started selling tea as the crowds started coming. This week we had tattoos, Granny stickers, and our Granny-dressed-as-the-members-of-Kiss guitar picks to giveaway. We also continued our tradition of giving away Frisbee’s to anyone who gives out 20 stickers. Needless to say we ran out of Frisbee’s quickly.
At around 7:30, Jimmy Vaughn hit the stage. We continued to sell tea plus we started passing out samples to the masses. Vaughn put on a great show as people continued to hang out in the park.
As always we had a great time. Come check us out in 2 weeks on July 15, as Marcia Ball rocks the stage. Be sure to bring your $2 for some tea and ready to pass out stickers for your frisbee!
