OK found the page! I voted for #2. The to and too difference one!
I want it to be under one of the caps because my husband always mixes the to and too and it drives me crazy and i always tell him! I would love to see his face expression when he opens a tea and sees that! lol
I voted for Jess W’s grannyism “Life is your canvas so grab a brush!” Its a great quote that encourages you to get out there and enjoy life. It’s up to you to make your life memorable so start living!
Sorry about that Christyn! We fixed it. Thanks for the note!
Thanks for the catch Anita! We fixed it now.
Thanks Kari for the note. We fixed it.
I voted for ‘If you say gullible slowly it sounds like green beans.’ I think it’s a fun, light hearted joke that some people might even fall for! What’s could be better than enjoying some delicious sweet tea AND laughing at yourself at the same time!
I voted for “LIVE EVERY DAY AS IF IT WERE YOUR LAST” – JOE A. – this is the start of many famous qoutations, for the simple fact it can bringforth in us that faint glimmer of fear of our own mortality, that hides deep within our psyche. We as humans need words and circumstances to ignite that fire within us, to inspire us to do more with our lives and in turn inspire each other.
I voted for my own Grannyism: You’re beautiful!! Don’t ever forget it. So many people, especially women forget just how beautiful and amazing they truly are. A little reminder like this, can do so much.
I voted for my own grannyism as well, which says, “Don’t think twice, just be nice!” So many people often feel angry or annoyed by the actions of others, but whether it’s a really big deal or simply a small matter, like a cashier taking a long time to ring up an item, it always makes an incredible difference to be polite and kind, no matter which end of the deal you are on! I think this grannyism is a reminder that can truly change someone’s attitude in the course of the day :]
I voted for “DRINKING TEA SIGNIFICANTLY REDUCES THE RISK OF HEART DISEASE” by Morgan S.
I choose “Don’t throw the baby out with the bath water” by Shea S. because this expression clearly implies that people should never try and out do themselves through a great expression!
I voted for Jordan M’s Grannyism, ‘Too’ and ‘To’ are Two different words. This grannyism makes me feel like a granny because it’s something that I find myself wanting to point out all the time! I wish there was a way to reteach homophones to adults.
i voted for mine
life is a beach im just plaing in the sand
it reminds people who live in stressed life styles just to stop sit on the couch watch their favorite tv show and sip on some RASBERRY ice tea
perfect way to relax
I voted for ” Without ‘ART’, ‘earth’ would just be ‘eh’.” By Tricia Belle S.
I myself totally agree with this comment and it has a nice Grannyism ring to it! Earth would be total ‘EH’ without art, how sad would that be!? Keep Rock’n the tea thang Sweet Leaf! The earth would be pretty ‘EH’ without Sweet Leaf Tea too!!!
P.S MY FAV IS PEACH TEA
I chose the “to and too are two different words” because it sounds like something my grandmother would say if I wrote to her. During Granny’s time it was all about proper education and grammar, so to know people have gotten away from that and use which ever form would drive her nuts! I can picture her saying “weren’t you ever taught to and too are two different words” in her little fragile voice. I’d simply reply…”oh granny, have a sweet leaf tea!”
I voted for #3 because it’s true!! Being in the fine arts, it’s about expression and life is the same way!
I voted for the Grannyism by Megan D. “If you say gullible slowly it sounds like green beans” because I was loudly chanting gullible until I realized…
But really, it illustrates what I enjoy most about popping open a bottle of Sweet Leaf. It’s light-hearted & simple – the perfect combination!
“If you say Gullible slowly it sounds like green beans”. That is the best grannyism of the past, present and future! Life is not fun when it is taken too seriously. That grannyism can even make your uber-annoying neighbor (you know exactly who I am referring to) chuckle.
Mad Props!
I’m a fan of the “TODAY IS A GIFT; THAT’S WHY ITS CALLED THE PRESENT”, because it is so true. I also think it’s just in line with the other Grannyisms I’ve come across. May the best one win.
I voted for: You don’t have to be political to be a member of our tea party, by Karen T. because I think it is funny which is kind of a refreshing little joke about Sweet Leaf.
I voted for “If you say ‘gullible’ slowly it sounds like green beans” because … no it does not. While “olive juice” sounds like “I love you,” the term “gullible” said slowly sounds more like someone talking after taking a huge bit of ice cream. That being said, I really hope this one wins because I await the day that I am standing in line somewhere and hear a person testing this bottle cap logic under their breath. These are the moments I live for and if this bottle cap wins I’ll definitely be buying my granny at least fifty bottles. She won’t stop ’til it works, trust me!
I voted for “Don’t cry because it’s over, smile because it happened.”
I would love for this to be on a cap because it is so true – too often we hang on to the past and miss out on enjoying the present. I recently lost my dad to a heart attack, and now I really know how precious and short life really is – we need to smile with the memories and enjoy now before it’s gone too.
My favorite is “Don’t think twice, just be nice.”
It should win because it’s a fantastic reminder that people today need to heed!!
I voted for the Grannyism submitted by Angela B.
“Better to Be Over the Hill than under it.”
Reason being, life is a gift. I still have so much to learn, love and explore. Therefore, I would much rather be dancing on a hill than be still six feet under the hill….
I voted for “Some days you’re the bird & some days the statue.” http://www.sweetleafalmanac.com/grannyisms/some-days-you%E2%80%99re-the-bird-some-days-the-statue/ Wiser words have never been spoken. LOL
