Down here in Austin, people love their dogs. I mean LOVE their pups, but there are many dogs to be adopted and taken into great homes. Recently, we gave a couple sets of bandanas to the Austin Humane Society to give the pups some “flare” to intice adoptions. Check out some of the photos of these cute rescue dogs sporting a SLT bandana!

Granny is at it again!  You just can’t stop this woman from spreading homemade goodness across the US and beyond!  This time she is headed to Chicago, to attend Lincoln Park Zoo’s Super Zoo Picnic!  Head on over to the Lincoln Park Zoo (click here for location) for crafts, inflatable fun for the kids, DJ’s, carousel rides, and of course some free Sweet Leaf Tea!  Our professional tea slinger, me =  @SweetLeafDanny will be there passing out tea and some awesome goodies.  If you are a member, be sure to stop by the booth because we’ll have a photobooth set up to take some pretty Sweet Snaps that you can send to your granny! Lincoln Park Super Zoo Picnic is Friday the 17th of June between 6:30 – 9:00pm.  Click HERE for more details on the event.  If you live in Chicago and haven’t been to Lincoln Park Zoo, it’s great and this event is a great time to make your debuts visit!

My husband and I got a little pre-Lolla music earlier this month – Deftones @ The Austin Music Hall. I know it’s not my usual ”Lady Badu” – Let’s just say I like to diversify.  Those who know me have seen head banging at its best…. ie: Pearl Jam @ ACL 2009. So in true form, The Coolest Mom Ever put on my steel toed boots and jumped in…shoulder first.

The show was my first Deftones live experience and it was a night I will never forget - Nor will the rest of our crew. The 2010 Diamond Eyes LP is awesome! Check it out when you feel the need to jump into the pit.

As you can tell from my last post, Free Press Summer Fest was a blast! We love working them, spreading the love, and having a great time doing it. One of our favorite things to do is launch our SLT balloons into the crowd during some sweet shows! I was just passed along the photo above from the TheLoopScoop.com. How pretty is that! Check out the video below, @TEddingston made, to see the awesomeness of balloon launching at Free Press!

Wow! I’m just now getting my feet back under my body after Free Press Summer Fest 2011. 2 words to describe the festival: HOT and TRILL.

Houston hit record highs while the SLT tea’m and I were there…. 102º with 70% humidity = sweat fest. Lucky for the fest goers, we had some ice cold bandanas to hand out to keep them cool on the outside and tea to keep them chilled on the inside.

Other than the heat, FPSF was an amazing time! We set up our Sweet Spot Oasis next to the main stage with our Sweet Snaps photobooth each day and got some great photos of everyone that came out!  Ty, our old SweetLeafIntern, was working the camera and SweetLeafCharla was choreographing!

Now to the music, the top 3 shows of the fest:

Bun B and Big Boi stole the show for me.  Bun B, being from Houston, brought the crowd to their feet and got their hands waving.  Then Big Boi jumps on stage and the UGK crew was live.  Playing hits like International Players Anthem, Big Pimping, Shutterbug….they put on a show to remember.

Weezer With their last album making me a little weezy…they did not disappoint!  They kicked off the show with Sweater Song and played hits like El Scorcho, Say it Ain’t So, and Hashpipe.  They were animated on stage and they rocked. Definetly one of the best live shows I’ve seen in a while!

Chromeo Something about Night by Night live and the energy it creates in the crowd is awesome.  See below.

We had a great time at Free Press Summer Fest, and it was a great way to kick off the Summer Sweet Leaf Festival Season. Stay tuned for more giveaways, contests, and great stories!
