Hello fans of tea, music, and good times!
The Austin Chronicle is kicking off a music series they call Paper Cuts this coming Thursday showcasing an artist from a recent printing! I am super excited first off because Sweet Leaf Tea is sponsoring it and will be pouring the most refreshing stuff on the planet, but also because one of my top Austin bands are going to be playing…..
FOOT PATROL!
I first saw this band at Fun Fun Fun Fest in 2009 and they lit up the crowd with their high energy on stage coupled with their funkalicous sound. Check out their stuff below, and rsvp to attend this event! It’s gonna be a fun one.
Music Monday: Round III

Now that the average daily temperature is above 90, it’s officially summer in Texas. Which means that it’s music festival season. Woo-hoo! Grab a few ice-cold bottles of Sweet Leaf Tea and let’s do this thing. The first of this years festival trifecta is Free Press Summer Fest in Houston (followed by Lollapalooza and Austin City Limits), and I’m psyched about the lineup.
On Saturday, there’s a series of some really great acts that will definitely take your mind off of the heat, but the band I’m really hankerin to see is Yeasayer.
Self-described as “Middle Eastern-psych-snap-gospel,” these guys are musical pioneers. Based in Brooklyn, they’ve been traveling all over the place with the likes of Gogol Bordello, Vampire Weekend, Antibalas, and countless other avante-garde performers.
I first saw them in 2008 at Austin City Limits and have been a fan ever since. If you happen to be in Houston, definitely check them out. They won’t disappoint.
Stay cool and see you out there!

OMG, did you see the Austin City Limits line-up! Last night at midnight CST, the 2011 ACL line-up was announced with several heavy hitters.
Stevie Wonder, Arcade Fire, Kanye West, Coldplay, Fleet Foxes, etc. etc. WOW. I’m really excited about ACL (yet again) this year. I wonder what type of Sweet Leaf Tea Stevie would want on his bus? I know Coldplay would want to sip on some of our Lemon Iced Tea, because our lemons are all Yellow. Cee Lo is all about our GREEN tea and now that I think about it, I heard Nas and Damian Marley are quite fond of it too.
Regardless what band drinks what tea, we’ll be there spreading that crisp, cold, refreshing homemade goodness to the masses. Be sure to stay tuned to the blog for top picks for the fest from the tea’m, as well as ways to win VIP Tickets to the festival. Check out the full line-up below! See you on the green.

Who are you most excited to see?

When I looked at the Free Press Summer Fest lineup, one artist jumped out me. Hayes Carll. The typical Sweet Leaf employee doesn’t exactly fit the country music mold, however, someone has to add variety!
Since living in Austin, I have been able to see this Texas Country gem many times. Hayes Carll is real, he’s gritty, and he always puts on a great show. Simply, he’s just plain good. Check him out and let me know what you think!
Happy Music Monday – @sweetleafjacqui
My Friday the 13th Farewell to Sweet Leaf
By Marketing Intern on May 13 Filed In Austin, Texas, Intern 2 Comments
After two awesome semesters as the @SweetLeafIntern, it’s time for me to throw in the towel. Coincidentally enough, my last day is Friday the 13th. Spooky, am I right? It’s been a good year here at Sweet Leaf. I’ve made some great friends and had the opportunity to do some amazing things. Let me give you the rundown of a few of my interning highlights.
1. ACL 2010 – 3 days of music, fun, tea slinging, dancing, delicious food, and balloon launching. I’ve been to ACL for the past 4 years, but it was never as fun as it was working with Sweet Leaf.
2. Making SweetLeafTV – For the past year, I’ve been running all over Austin filming, taking photos, and having fun – for my job! It’s too good to be true. My most memorable experience is when myself and the other two interns from last semester (@In_A_Pinch and @SlashSarah) were driving the Sweet Leaf van to Zilker Park, and decided to let granny ride shotgun. We got some funny looks from that one. Check out my most recent endeavor, a stop-motion flavor video for Original.
3. SXSW 2011 – Okay, I know two of these are music festivals. But hey, that’s what Sweet Leaf does best! Again, I’ve been going to SXSW for years, but it’s never been as fun as it was working with Sweet Leaf. @SweetLeafDanny and I ran all over town throughout the week dropping off loads of tea for all of our awesome parties. It was hard work, but really fun and it totally paid off – those parties were awesome!

The Sweet Leaf Tea'm - SXSW 2011
So as I bid thee farewell, I’d like to thank everyone here at Sweet Leaf for giving me the opportunity to be a part of the Tea’m. It’s been a life changing experience, and I’ve had a lot of good times, they will be missed.
