#3 – HERE TODAY, GONE TOMORROW.

In the world of rock stars, there are way to many ways that this grannyism applies. From rockstars that blow all their cash from their first big hit on drugs, girls, houses, cars, and tons of bling…to rock stars like Kurt Kobain who become one of the biggest names in rock and go and kill themself…or simply one hit wonders that we never hear from again.

    definately “always wear clean underwear”

    touring gets rough.

“Smile and the whole world smiles with you.”

The best shows are always when the band is enjoying themselves too. When they’re having fun on stage, it’s contagious!

    ALWAYS WEAR CLEAN UNDERWEAR.
Saw Blondie on Escape from New York tour in Austin several years ago (like 20 years ago). Hubby is a hugh fan (as am I)so we were standing right next to the stage. We were actually standing directly below Debbie Harry when she came out. Beautiful dress…NO UNDERWEAR!!! Still scared from that. Enough said.

    Grannyism #68

ROCK OUT WITH YOUR C**K OUT

Neil Patrick Harris isn’t technically a rock star, but that doesn’t mean he couldn’t damn well be one if he pleased. And seeing him saying the above in the 2nd Harold & Kumar movie motivates me in a way few others can.

  • Charla said: May 27th, 2011 2:18 pm

Now, now Cory. That’s not something Granny would say!

#17 Give it all you got!

This is the definition of Rock Star.

Who doesn’t want to party like a Rock Star? You’ve got to give it all you got no matter what you are doing if you want to be lucky enough to be called a Rock Star.

I’ve toured with many different shows/artists for work and I can say from experience I’ll never live up to that title. I had a heck of a time though!

#65: Life is a garden, dig it!

Rock music is all about finding what’s great in life. It may be hard work, but it pays off deliciously.

And if you dig enough, guess what you find? Rocks.

    41. “You Are What You Drink”

Rockstars don’t keep Granny innocent; she’s spiked!

Turn The World On With a Smile!

I think I would have to give this award to Steven Tyler and his iconic smile.

#53 The less you own, the less that owns you

Rock stars are fortunate enough to make loads of money doing what they love, and with that money they can buy fancy things and live extravagant lives.

But lest we forget, the reason rock stars started making music was to create art and share their gifts with the world, not to become famous in order to buy lavish things. So it’s okay to have a Corvette or two – just remember why you’re making music. I guarantee that will make you a happier, more free-spirited individual (and your music will probably be better too). Think about it, rock stars. You’ll thank me when VH1 doesn’t make a documentary about your glamorous, overly indulgent lives.
