Miami Fun Times! — @SweetLeafDanny

As you already know, I was in Miami for a couple of days setting up and working the Columbia Muddy Buddy Series, but the trip wasn’t all work and no play. COME ON’ you know me better than that! I ate some amazing food, saw some pretty awesome sites, drank some beer in some odd and new bars. So after my first trip to Miami, I have put together my top 5 things I did in Miami for anyone out there that hasn’t been, or has been and would like to relive it with me. Let me know if you have some Miami experiences of your own!
Number 5: Wolfsonian Museum
Right across the street from our hotel, this museum intrigued me since we arrived, so I had to make a stop and see what it was all about. The exhibit was “Speed Limits” and it had several displays on the pace at which the world around us is changing. It covered construction and built environments, rapid motion, circulation and transit, and the mind and body relationship. If you can’t tell I just looked up the website to sound smart, well… I did. Go here to learn more about the exhibit. It was phenomenal!
Number 4: Collins Street
Whether you know this or not, Miami is the capitol of art deco architecture. On Collins street, many of the the hotels and complexs are built into stores, and not just 7-11′s, more like True Religion, Louis Vuitton, etc, etc. It was a great place to stroll in the famous Miami weather and check out the shops and people watch. I also did a little shopping in the district, but more along the lines or the Adidas Originals Store. There are only 19 Adidas Original stores in the US, and they have some of the fly-est limit edition kicks.
Number 3: Mac’s Club Deuce
This AWESOME Dive bar is a picture perfect place for a transplanted Austinite to drink some beers and socialize. It’s prices are decent, and they have a pool table. While there, we met an older couple from New Mexico that just purchased a condo to retire in, the bartender who stayed and hung out with us after his shift was over, a girl from Holland that was traveling Florida for 3 weeks, and a guy that works for and photographs, Tiger Woods. I played some pool, discussed the Jersey Shore’s stay in Miami, and listened to some CURE from the jukebox. I have to give a shout out to @YelpSouth for yelping about this bar. It was a diamond in the rough for sure.
Number 2: Miami Beach
Come’on you know I had to put this up there! I built sand castles, threw a frisbee, and swam in the Atlantic. It was a grand time!
Number 1: Joe’s Stone Crab
You know I’m a foodie. Me and @SarahkWolf went here twice. There isn’t much to say other than amazingly fresh seafood that is to die for. Look at the menu and you will understand! Sweet Holy Shrimp. It was KICKING! Half Lobster, Stone Crab claws, oysters, and seafood bisque. Heaven. See HERE for the full menu.

Love the pic of you in the surf. Get a tan boy! Thanks for making me hungry and just a tidbit jealous of your awesome WORK trip.
