Lemonade Day was a Sweet Success!

We couldn’t have asked for a more lemonade-worthy day last Sunday. It was hot, sunny and the masses of people outside soaking up the sun’s rays were thirsty for a cold beverage. The 7-Eleven on Lake Austin Blvd was a prime location to make sure our “Most Creative Lemonade Flavor” winner’s stand was a hit. And, as it turns out, our young entrepreneur Alesha Barnett and her brother Shawn were a sweet success!
Alesha raked in about $75 after paying her parents back the “seed” money she needed for ingredients and Shawn made about $55. Not too bad for a 4 hour span of slingin’ Lemonade! Both plan to donate a portion of their profits to the American Heart Association in honor of a grandparent.
In case you didn’t get to visit their stands all the way in Austin, I thought you should at least get the opportunity to make a batch on your own. Both of these recipes were definite crowd pleasers! And for all of those Austinites that came out to support over 10,000 kids on Lemonade Day, thanks for supporting young entrepreneurs. I know that the Sweet Leaf Tea’m had a great time “sweetening” these stands. You never know….they might make the next bottled lemonade someday!

I gotta say that I tasted both lemonades and if you could combine the two (like I did) it will ROCK your world! (How can you go wrong with sweetened condensed milk, lemons AND fresh berries!?!?)
Way to go guys! We are proud of you and also really appreciate that you donated some of your profits. Philanthropic through and through.
