To Diet with Love

We recently had a Diet Sweet Leaf Tea taste test at our office and we advertised it via Twitter, Facebook and through folks that work here. I received a cool note from a Diet SLT fan and thought you guys might dig it too!

From Dana Carpenter:

Hi Sweet Leaf!

I was introduced to Sweet Leaf a few years ago and haven’t looked back. I drink A LOT of Granny’s goodness… daily…  like I go through a 64 oz bottle every two days… I love this stuff and really couldn’t imagine life without it. A few months ago, however, I was faced with that very reality.

I was having a lot of health problems last spring and out of the blue was diagnosed with Type 2 Diabetes. It was a hard diagnosis for the obvious reasons, but the worst part was the sense of loss I felt. I was now limited in the things I could enjoy… one being my beloved Sweet Leaf.

I thought I had seen a Diet Original version at Whole Foods, (WFM does not carry any product sweetened artificially-including Diet SLT) but I absolutely hate diet drinks and figured it would have an artificial taste. One day, I was having a rough afternoon a work, and my boyfriend surprised me with lunch and a Diet Sweet Leaf.

I was really missing my Granny and decided to go with it… the first drink took a minute to register, but when it did, I thought, “that wasn’t so bad.” I took another and another and still no after taste. I figured there must a catch… this couldn’t be completely sugar free. I turned to the nutritional information and sure enough it was!

The realization that I could once again enjoy my dear Sweet Leaf elated me! I bought every one on the shelf and now keep a constant supply in the house. I know it sounds corny and I’ve written a lot to express my love for Sweet Leaf, but it really made me feel more whole again. Whatever life throws at me, I still get to enjoy the little pleasures in life like my Granny goodness!

I would love to participate in the blind taste test you announced on Facebook for lots of reasons but the top two are 1) I want to help Granny get the word out about how kick-ass her products are, and 2) I was a Psychology major and love this kind of stuff! If you could use my assistance, please let me know.

Much love,

Dana

It is true! I am Dana’s sister and I am always amused at the amount of diet sweat leaf bottles she keeps at the house.

    lol @ “…how kick-ass her products are,”

Ah! I for one can vouch for Dana’s love of Sweet Leaf. She was just devestated when the doctors told her she had to cut it out of her diet due to the diabetes. Thank you for making a sugar free version for people like her! She certainly deserves every little pleasure she can get her hands on!
