It was a whirlwind, but we just returned from 3 days of meetings, presentations and planning at our company retreat! Each year, Sweet Leaf employees from near and far travel down to Austin, Texas (yes, the live music capital of the world) to gather together in lakeside cabins for some good ‘ole strategizing meetings, ‘08 recapping and ‘09 planning. It wasn’t all straight talk though, as we can’t forget the important parts of the retreat like the pontoon boats (1 of which nearly sank) and endless games of beer pong (hail to the champions Russel and Elizabeth)!

In addition to fun and games, we were able to hear wise words of wisdom from one of our biggest fans, Mr. Jim Wimberly, former COO of Southwest Airlines! From Jim, we learned about team leadership, the great environment of Southwest Airlines over the past 30 years and even about the Boner of the Year Award… hold on now, it’s not what you think! It’s acually a prestigious award at SWA for the person who makes the biggest goof of the year.

All in all it was a fantastic retreat - can’t wait to see everybody next year!
